Installation Guide

Android

  1. edgeSDK is available through the Google Play Store.
  2. Just search mimik edge service on the Google Play Store.
  3. After you find the app, just click on Install.
  4. Follow the prompted instructions to install edgeSDK on your device.

iOS

The easiest way to integrate edgeSDK into an iOS application is by adding the iOS edgeSDK app wrappers as dependencies in your iOS project. You can use CocoaPods to install iOS edgeSDK app wrappers easily. Just add the following lines of codes to your Podfile:

platform: ios, '11.0'
source 'https://github.com/CocoaPods/Specs.git'
source 'https://github.com/mimikgit/cocoapod-edge-specs.git'

target 'your_target' do // change 'your_target_ to your project name
    # edgeSDK wrapper cocoapods
    pod 'edgeSDK-iOS-app-auth'  ## includes edgeSDK-iOS as dependency
    pod 'edgeSDK-iOS-app-ops'   ## includes edgeSDK-iOS as dependency
end

Raspbian

  1. Extract the files archived in the .tar file that you have downloaded from the edgeSDK download page.
  2. Open the command line and simply run the install_edgeservice.sh setup file under the extracted folder:
./install_edgeservice.sh

Double Check

You can check if edgeSDK is installed successfully by running the command:

ps -ef | grep edge

Check if there is a process running under /opt/mimik/edge.

Beaglebone

  1. Extract the files archived in the .tar file that you have downloaded from the edgeSDK download page.
  2. Open the command line and simply run the install_edgeservice.sh setup file under the extracted folder:
./install_edgeservice.sh

Double Check

You can check if edgeSDK is installed successfully by running the command:

ps -ef | grep edge

Check if there is a process running under /opt/mimik/edge.

QNX

  1. Extract the files archived in the .tar file that you have downloaded from the edgeSDK download page.
  2. Open the command line and simply run the install_edgeservice.sh setup file under the extracted folder:
./install_edgeservice.sh

Double Check

You can check if edgeSDK is installed successfully by running the command:

ps -ef | grep edge

Check if there is a process running under /opt/mimik/edge.

Linux

  1. Extract the files archived in the .tar file that you have downloaded from the edgeSDK download page.
  2. Open the command line and simply run the install_edgeservice.sh setup file under the extracted folder:
./install_edgeservice.sh

Check if there is a process running under /opt/mimik/edge.

Windows

  1. Run the .exe setup file that you have downloaded from the edgeSDK download page.
  2. Follow the on screen instructions to finish the installation.
  3. Once the installation is finished, edgeSDK will be running as a service in the system background.

Double Check

You can check if edgeSDK is actually installed successfully by opening Task Manager, under Services and search for "EdgeService".

macOS

  1. Open the .pkg that you have downloaded from edgeSDK download page.
  2. Follow the on screen instructions to finish the installation.
  3. Once the installation is finished, edgeSDK will be running as a service in the system background.

Double Check

You can check if edgeSDK is actually installed successfully by opening Activity Monitor and search for "edge".

Optional

If you don't see edgeSDK running after installation, please check the default install location: /Library/mimik and run edgeSDK with:

./edgeOSX
